The outburst was ridden with expletives as Paris Jackson vented her spleen on the 273,000 people who follow her on the social media site Instagram.
'I have AA meetings to go to. Family obligations. PERSONAL obligations.'
So spoke the 17-year-old daughter of Michael Jackson, complaining bitterly about the unreasonable expectations of fans who criticised her for not responding to comments on her posts.
It was comparable, she shrieked, to the 'f****** ridiculous' expectations her father faced. 'He didn't owe you anything, yet he was ripped to shreds DAILY. I won't let that happen to me.'
Next month, Paris will turn 18 and it sounds as if she is maturing into adulthood in the Jackson clan time-honoured fashion — helplessly addicted to celebrity and yet woefully unable to handle it.
Last weekend, she reminded her Instagram followers of her bond with the legendary star by posting a picture of herself — sporting a punkish, spiky, bleached blonde haircut — standing in front of a life-size picture of him.
