Cool FM OAP, Daddy Freeze Opens Up on His Beef with Basketmouth

Daddy-Freeze

Controversial Cool FM OAP, Daddy Freeze has opened up on the fued between him and Basketmouth which saw both throwing shades and subs at each other. In fact, the online fight led to insinuations which went viral that the OAP got sacked by his employers at Cool FM.

Addressing the issue in an interview with Pulse, Freeze said he has known Basketmouth for a long time. But, many people who have followed the two are still lost as to how their once mutual relationship nose-dived into a full-scale online war. The two were known to be very close friends before the bad blood sprouted.

"You see there's a point in the conversation that I cannot have for legal reasons, but there was an alliance that was broken and Basketmouth took the other side or it appeared to me that he did, and he never gave me a call. This is my guy, he never gave me a call to say why did you do this or why did you not do this and I felt slightly slighted.

"I remember when he was driving a Jetta and I was driving a golf. I am talking about 20-year-old cars basically.

"He is an amazing talent I must say and I watched that talent grow from a seed into a forest that it is right now.

"Also, I have to give it to him he was part of my story. He encouraged when there wasn't much encouragement. So I hate to hear all the stories that I am hearing about me and him.

"Unfortunately, if you come after me I will come after you. I am reactive, with him, I am reactive, with most things to I am reactive. I am not pro-active but just know that for every action, there is an opposite and equal reaction. As long as he keeps...I mean you saw the shade the other day. Like really? But he is my guy, he is a great guy and I love him to death." Freeze said.

Forbes - Meet the 35-year-old entrepreneur who owns Nigeria's 2nd largest rice farm

Forbes writer Nsehe Mfonobong interviewed former journalist turned entrepreneur Rotimi Williams who owns the second largest rice farm in Nigeria. Read the feature below...

Nigerians consume more than 5 million metric tons of rice every year, with a significant portion of its consumption needs sourced from imports. Rotimi Williams WMB -4.95%, an ambitious 35 year-old Nigerian entrepreneur and rice farmer, is on a quest to change that.

Williams, a former Journalist, is the owner of Kereksuk Rice Farm, the 2nd largest commercial rice farm in Nigeria by land size. His farm, which is situated in Nasarawa state in northern Nigeria, currently sits on 45,000 hectares and employs more than 600 indigenes of Nasarawa.
I recently caught up with the budding entrepreneur in Lagos, and had a brief chat with him where he recounted his journey and mused on how Nigeria can attain self-sufficiency in rice production in the near future.

What’s your educational and professional background?
I attended King’s College in Lagos. After attending secondary school at King’s College I proceeded to obtain my first degree at University of Aberdeen where I graduated with a degree in Economics. I also obtained a Master’s Degree in Economics from the same institution. My quest for more knowledge led me to enroll for yet another Master’s Degree at the School of Oriental and African Studies, London where I gained an MSc. in Finance and Development Studies.
Upon graduation, I landed a role as an analyst at the European Economics and Financial Centre in London. Afterwards, Euromoney Magazine- employed me where I covered the African space.
I would say that this is where my journey truly started.

Given your background as a journalist, what informed your decision to venture into rice farming?
While at Euromoney, I had the opportunity to travel around a few African countries. These trips exposed me to countries like Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda, South Africa, Zambia and Ghana. A common thread amongst the aforementioned nations is agriculture. Agriculture is at the very core of these countries and this got me thinking. After a few more trips, I decided to move back to Nigeria and sink my teeth into the agricultural space. Nigeria remains the largest economy in Africa from both a GDP perspective and also the strength of the size of our population.
Upon my arrival back in Nigeria, I got a job at a premier Bank where I was promised to sit on the agriculture desk – my hope was that I would gain enough knowledge of the Nigerian agricultural industry and develop myself from there.

Unfortunately, the agricultural desk at the Bank never quite achieved its set goals. I pushed hard for the Bank to adopt policies and gain inroads into the agricultural industry but my attempts were somewhat frustrated. I sincerely feel that the bank wasn’t quite ready to launch fully into the agricultural space.
As my frustration grew, I decided to quit banking and planned to go it alone into agriculture. Frankly, my decision led to a challenging sojourn as attempts to raise funding with my partner proved difficult. We started a Structured Trade and Commodity Finance company. After a while I started consulting for small agriculture companies seeking to raise capital both locally and internationally.

You currently own the second (2nd) largest rice farm in Nigeria with 45,000 hectares in Nasarawa, Nigeria. What’s the story behind your acquisition of such vast land, and what are some of the challenges you’ve encountered in farming in the volatile northern region?
Two years had past and we still had no funds, so I made an offer to the farm owner, that with a 50-50 split, I would develop the farm with both personal funds and external funding. He agreed and that’s how I became part owner of 17,296 hectares of farmland. Knowing that agriculture would become the integral area of focus in Nigeria, I was bullish and ramped up the land to 55,000 hectares. I later parted with my partner as a result of unaligned views and strategy. I maintained 45,000 hectares for myself and today we have started producing, with our quality paddy being sold to major milling companies in Nigeria. However, I must add the following, I often have people ask how I learned abut farming, as everyone thinks you need a special degree in agriculture to be a farmer, but I always tell them the truth, I learnt it all on Google GOOGL +1.11%.   I downloaded every article I could find on rice production, consumed it and then practiced it in the fields.

Frankly, my experience working alongside indigenes of Nasarawa state has been exceptional. I have learnt over the years that if you approach people with respect even more so while one seeks to set up a business venture. Having a healthy sense of community makes all the difference in attaining one’s set objectives. I lean heavily on the wisdom and cultural approach of the indigenes to carry out farming on such a scale here in Nasarawa.

Leicester City’s Thai owner gives players £32,000 Mercedes Benz each

Leicester City’s Thai owner and Chairman Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha has rewarded each of his players with a brand new Mercedes B-Class for winning the Premier League. This isn’t the first time the Foxes owner has displayed a gesture of goodwill, he gave every Leicester City fan a free beer and doughnut to celebrate his birthday in a game against Southampton at the start of April.

But now, with a Premier League title under his belt, the Thai owner has gone one better and according to the  Daily Mail, he has stumped out £1m on 30 new cars for his players. Not that the Leicester City players will have necessarily needed a new car with many already owning luxury supercars. The Foxes’ hitman Jamie Vardy owns a £168,000 Bentley Continental, and it’s likely that the prolific forward may be underwhelmed with a B-Class Mercedes, which is modestly priced at £32,670.

Srivaddhanaprabha has an estimated worth of around £2 billion, so the £1m spend out on 30 cars is hardly even a drop in the water for the founder of duty-free company King Power. He will be hoping the gift is enough to keep Leicester’s star players from leaving in the summer, with the likes of N’Golo Kante, Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy being linked with a move away from the East Midlands.

Meanwhile, Manchester City hopes of a top four finish suffered a huge following its 2-2 draw with Arsenal on Sunday. The result gives Manchester United hope of a top four finish should it wins its remaining two games. Arsenal will also need to win its last game at home to Aston Villa for it to secure a third place finish.

Damilola Adejonwo's eyebrows are always on fleek! He is also a proud Nigerian gay man living in London.

“I knew the consequences. I have a “bad relationship” with my family since I came out, but I hope it will gets better with time.''

See the top six Nigerian celebrities’ marriage break-ups

They are celebrities and their earth-shaking wedding ceremonies happened right before our eyes.

Unfortunately, when their marriages crumbled unexpectedly after a short while, it was also followed with so much scandal, noise and most people, especially fans who see them as their idols, were left in wonder and amazement.

Saturday Beats compiled a list of some of the marriage crashes that shocked Nigerians in recent years.

1 - Tiwa Savage and Tunji Tee-Billz Balogun

Theirs looked like a match made in heaven; at least that was the picture they painted on social media.
So beautiful did their love seem that rap artiste, Ice Prince, in his song, That Could be Us, praised the couple’s love and told his potential girlfriend that their relationship could be like Tiwa and Tunji’s.

However, Nigerians got the shock of their lives about two weeks ago when Tee Billz went on his Instagram page to rant and tell tales of his wife’s alleged infidelity among other things. In retaliation, Tiwa Savage granted a no-hold-barred interview where she claimed that her husband was not only a cheat but was an irresponsible man who stole from her. Although other entertainers have pleaded with both parties to let peace reign for the sake of their son, Jamil, Tiwa has made it known that the marriage is over.

2 - Toyin Aimakhu and Adeniyi Johnson

When the romance between the pair began to brew, many people were skeptical for several reasons. First on the list was the issue of age difference because Toyin is older than Adeniyi.

Some argued that it was an egocentric relationship because  it was alleged that Toyin earned more money and seemed like the breadwinner of the family, so most likely she would want her decision to be final and this might not sit well with her husband.

Despite all these odds, the pair tried to prove that love is blind and they proceeded to the altar. Toyin and Adeniyi had a low key traditional wedding in Ibadan in February 2013 and on July 8, 2013, they signed the dotted lines at the Ikoyi registry.

Shortly after they tied the knot, people began to monitor the marriage just to see if their predictions would come to pass and the couple made it easy for them by posting their daily activities online for the public to comment. Sometime in 2015, their marriage had a hiccup but their parents came to the rescue to patch things up.

Later that year, it was announced that their marriage crumbled like a pack of cards. Although they did not give detailed reasons for their marriage failure, Johnson, in an interview once hinted that his marriage crashed because his wife caught him flirting.

In a recent interview, the actress disclosed that she doubts she would give marriage or love another chance.

3 - Ini Edo and Philip Ehiagwina

Not many knew how the romance began but they certainly knew how it ended. The union between the two was one plagued by various controversies; top on the list was the constant war of words between Phillip’s first ex-wife, Ruth Okoro and the couple.

Despite the storm, the pair was able to sail through together for about six years before they called it quits. The separation was a messy one and some news portals reported that her bride price was returned because she was unfaithful in the marriage. It was alleged that she had an affair with a governor and that did not go down well with Phillip. It was also reported that the marriage broke up because the actress did not conceive a child and the husband’s family was breathing down her neck for a child. After a long silence on the issue, the actress via her twitter handle, insisted that she was never unfaithful to her husband. She wrote, “I asked for a divorce from my ex-husband because of irreconcilable differences.  I never cheated on my husband.  There’s a conscious and malicious attempt at tarnishing my image.  This whole saga is familiar.  Let’s not forget the past.  Thank you and God bless.”

The ace actress has since moved on with her life since the marriage crashed in 2014. Although there were claims in the media that she was in a relationship with an actor, Mike Godson, she never confirmed or denied the report.

4 - Chika Ike and Tony Eberiri

The duo signed the dotted lines to become man and wife in 2006 and by 2013 another dotted line was signed in an Abuja High Court, but this time, it was to dissolve the marriage. Shortly after the dissolution of the marriage, the actress took a picture of the court paper beaming with smiles and it soon flooded the internet.

In a series of interviews, the actress made it known that the main reason she walked out of her marriage was because she was a victim of domestic violence. The actress claimed that her husband was always beating her and she lost her pregnancy on one of the occasions.

Though she has been linked with one or two top government officials, the pretty babe is still singing and gracing the TV screens.

5 - Funke Akindele and Kenny Oloyede

The marriage between ace actress Funke Akindele and Kenny Oloyede just lasted for some months, it was between May 2012 and 2013. The marriage was the talk of town mostly because her hit movie, Jenifa, had endeared her to the hearts of her fans and many were so happy that their darling Funke had left the single ladies’ club.

However, some others wagged their tongues that the marriage would pack up soon because she was not Kenny’s first wife, others were optimistic that things would work out if they gave it a shot.

Nevertheless, it still came as a rude shock when the marriage collapsed when it did! Nobody saw it coming.

It came as a shock when the actress’ camp released the statement to confirm her separation, “We want to formally inform you that after due consultation and consideration, she’s now separated from Mr. Kehinde Oloyede as his wife.”

Subsequently, Oloyede, went on his Facebook page to break the news to his followers. He wrote, “It is with a heavy heart that I am announcing the separation of me and my wife, Mrs. Olufunke Akindele, we’ve both agreed to go our separate ways because of irreconcilable difference. We still remain best of friends and we forever remain good friends. I am doing just fine, getting along without you. I don’t need you anymore in my life. You are the greatest mistake I have made in recent times.”

When asked why she quit her marriage, the actress claimed that she was a victim of domestic abuse both emotionally and verbally.

“I was abused emotionally and verbally. Really, I felt we could work things out when the trouble started two months after the marriage, but I made up my mind and shut the door of the marriage at him when the trouble was coming to me too much,” she said.

6 - Princess and Adeshola Jeremiah

Comedienne, Princess, was on top of the world when she was getting married. She was so excited that she even reportedly said, “I am so happy I’m now getting married, I can now proudly wear iro and buba like a Nigerian woman…God bless that young man that picked me and decided to pity me and marry me when I had given up all…I am saying this because I want you all to hear it, God bless him for me for covering up my shame.”

But her marriage to Adeshola was probably the shortest among the list as it packed up almost at the beginning.

Not much is known about why the marriage broke up but Princess would always pin it down on ‘Irreconcilable differences’. - See more at: http://www.lailasblog.com/2016/05/see-top-six-nigerian-celebrities.html#sthash.9TrfY8L9.dpuf

Teebillz Allegedly Sent Out of Banky W's House as His 3rd Love Child with Dr. Oputa is Revealed

Dr. Vivian Oputa (pictured above) has been revealed as the woman Tiwa Savage's estranged husband, Tunji Balogun a.k.a Teebillz fathered his 3rd lovechild with.

It was disclosed that she is a medical practitioner and specialist in aesthetic medicine, surgery and dermatology, and is the medical director of DermaCare Medical Ltd. and Clinical Director of the Clover Medical Company Beverly Hills, USA).

Below is how The Capital exclusively reported the story;

"Tunji Balogun, estranged music diva, Tiwa Savage’s husband, certainly understands the principle of applying democracy to love. Like the proverbial farmer of wild oats, the music entrepreneur tended a fruitful path seeding and harvesting offsprings from different women – then he met his latest and estranged wife, Tiwa Savage.

But while the social media and entertainment news audience obsesses about the two children he allegedly sired outside wedlock before he met Tiwa, hardly anyone knows that he has a third child, Ona, by a highly placed society woman in Nigeria. Her name is Dr. Vivian Oputa. The latter, a medical practitioner and specialist in aesthetic medicine, surgery and dermatology, is the medical director of DermaCare Medical Ltd. and Clinical Director of the Clover Medical Company in Beverly Hills, United States of America (USA).

The 50 something years old plastic surgeon is the mother of Tunji a.k.a TeeBillz’s third child and as you read, this is the first time news of their affair and lovechild would make it into the public sphere. All along they had been struggling to conceal it. Dr. Vivian is well known and loved in high society circuits.

In another sad development, TeeBillz was sent packing with his few personal effects from the home of R&B music star, Bankole Wellington a.k.a Banky W.

It would be recalled that Banky W offered TeeBillz refuge soon after he allegedly rescued him from committing suicide on the Lekki-Ikoyi bridge. TeeBillz, allegedly attempted suicide on the afternoon of the day he accused his wife, Tiwa, of sleeping around with male entertainers, Don Jazzy, 2Face Idibia and Dr. Sid.

However, in a radical twist to the unfolding saga, Banky W’s mother allegedly called her son and ordered him to eject TeeBillz from his apartment soon after watching his estranged wife, Tiwa Savage’s interview.

We gathered that Banky W’s mother told her son pointblank that he should ask TeeBillz to leave his apartment after the woman watched Tiwa’s teary revelations about her marriage with him in an interview. Tunji vacated the apartment immediately with his paraphernalia flung after him."

Wiz Khalifa to launch his line of drinks infused with Hemp Plant

Wiz Khalifa doesn't always drink beer -- he's more of a smoker -- but when he does he likes his brew infused with hemp.  Yeah, Khalifa is gearing up to launch his own line of beer, juice, carbonated juice, energy drinks, and non-alcoholic cocktails ... all infused with the hemp plant.

According to the trademark docs Wiz filed he wants to sell the drinks under his "Khalifa Kush" handle ... which is also the brand he uses to push his strains of weed. Bad news though if you're looking for a liquid high -- even though hemp looks like weed, the THC levels are too low to produce a strong buzz.

Good news for the Beyhive -- Wiz is also making a hemp-laced lemonade. Becky not included.
